LILYS’
ADMISSION DAY SPEECH ON 31ST MARCH 2016
I stand here today
as I testify of Gods doing, im so happy and excited for this day and this
moment. First and foremost I would like to start by saying What God starts, he
will finish. You may not understand how it happens. God is a Powerful God, He
manages all my affairs. In honor of thanksgiving I would like to say a few
words.
It has been a long,
now and then challenging journey for me. For instance in the midst of this long
journey, I lost my pillar of strength
who played a big role in silently nurturing my career from a very early age
when I was 8years old. He used to tag me along when he visited the then High
Court of Kenya which is now The Supreme Court of Kenya here in Nairobi, he is
none other than the Late SIR CYRUS, my beloved dad.
However in the midst of all the struggles
there have been many joys, many indeed that remain in my heart todate. Let
gives thanks for the struggles which make us stronger and wiser as well as our
joys which makes wiser and more content.
I want to dedicate
this award to my mother the one and only Mrs Agnes Nyaga and its coz of her prayers and
faith in me that I’m up here today accepting this Mantle of becoming an
Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. I love you mami.
I attribute my success so far to prayers, hard
work, discipline, focus and determination. I attest that if you have a dream
you have everything and if you have everything and no dream, then everything
means nothing.
Life will always
put forth challenges, hindrances and unpredictable hardships. Our role then is
to maintain resilience, search for our passion and never give up. Memories of
long study hours and stressful exam days complemented by memories of
friendship, companionship, co-operation and family support spring to my mind
day and night. Now 7 years later, I can celebrate the achievements of such hard
work. This the time when you compare this to
a metaphor that goes: In the middle of the show you might not realize
things beyond your stretching muscles and sweat, but when you’re done and your
performance shakes the theatre, you’ll probably be the first one to clap for
yourself….hehehe and that’s me right here.

I cannot forget the
compassion of my family and the backing of my friends who’ve cheered my
enthusiasm. Altogether, this social surrounding and emotional caress were
undeniable sources of strength.
I’ve come to know
that perseverance is the secret of success and I want to be a blessing not only
to my family but to my country and the whole world in general.
Our role as human
beings is to maintain resilience, search for our passion and never give up.
I’m elated .I am on
the right path. Infact I have just began.
